My cousin Roger G. Moore Concrete photographed this small concrete structure in Comfort, Texas. The size and overall appearance of this building is consistent with many of the concrete calabooses I have visited. The owners were not home. Therefore, Roger did not trespass in order to collect more information.
Although it resembles a calaboose, there is one in town that has been verified. However, this remains a suspicious structure until further notice.
Old Smokehouse
This is a smokehouse that is on the property of the Inguenutt family in Comfort. It has been reported by local informants that it was used as a temporary jail at the time there was no regular jail in town.
